Basic Info BioUPDATE: I did not expect to take such a long hiatus from this project, nor indeed this journal. Chronic pain and regular morphine dosages sent my mind on a little holiday while I waited for, then recuperated from a knee reconstruction. My mind has come back and once again I am interested in picking up my camera, learning more and exploring and sharing the world around me.
This space is for sharing my images as I explore and improve my abilities to capture and share what my eyes see in the world.
I have loved photography since the first day I held a camera, aged 10. My first SLR was a Pentax Z-50P. She was much loved and travelled with me everywhere until last May, when I bought my first DSLR, and switched to Canon. My Pentax is still well-loved and being enjoyed by previously SLR-deprived friends back home.
Recently I found a group of LJers doing a Photo A Day Project. I have signed on for the challenge! I will post at least one photo a day, which has been taken that day. Often they turn into a series of photos, in which case I post my favourite upfront and a few others behind a cut. As well, I aim to post at least one film a fortnight. (EDIT: Tried a week and just can't keep up. EDIT 2:Film a Fortnight will resume once I have a permentant place to live and routine again)
For me this is about tapping into my creativity everyday and not allowing everyday life to take whole days captive, free of creative output. It's also about listening to others' feedback, learning what others' like in photos, and pushing myself to improve and learn more.
This journal is purely for all things photography related. However my photo posts do often come with the stories behind them as many photos are taken with friends in mind - all my friends who want to see what my life is like and what my surroundings and experiences are whilst living OS. gypsyamber, which is where the words of my life gets noted. Attached to that journal is also a scrapbook for my more snapshotty pics, of friends and antics.
People are welcome to use images from here provided permission is requested and given, and links are included back to this journal.
All images have been shrunk significantly out of consideration for others' screens. Most images will be available for sale to aid any soul who falls in love with an image and simply has to have it for themselves...just ask ;-D
